It was great to receive, set up and track our journey. Now they have improved the software and it is easy to use. It tracks your journey, whether on your camera or not (as long as it can lock onto the satellite) and shows you where you took the pictures, right down to the direction you pointed the camera when you uploaded it and the Have checked map and tracing line. It is very easy to use and well worth the money. I look forward to using it on a cruise. A lack of equipment. For example, if you get in your car after a walk along a trail or a trip to photograph a lake or mountain range, you need to have a GPS in a place where the device can still lock (listen) to satellites. We found that we had to remove the device from the camera and then mount it on the dashboard where it could "listen" to satellite signals. In other words, lock onto the satellite to continue tracking your path. Unless you have a custom dashboard on your car or other vehicle, you'll need something to keep it from sliding there, like some kind of small sandbag or other weight or wire hook to hold it up. place (maybe even a hook and loop to temporarily attach it to the dashboard). Unless you place it somewhere in the vehicle where it can "see" the sky and hold the satellite lock, you will lose the lock and it will not support your trail. If you're traveling without a camera, you can attach it to your belt with the included cute leather case. Or, if you have a camera, it will likely be plugged in. It's not as big, barely as big as a regular pack of cigarettes if you smoke or have smoked before. We don't know, but you get the comparison. It also uses an AA battery, so we recommend an AA lithium battery for longer runtime. More positives: when I took a short trip and then uploaded the photos, I activated the software (and don't forget to download the updated software, which is very easy) and then uploaded them to Google Earth Pro (which is now free is and still is 3D if you don't already know) and it looked just like their regular cards. All my photos are shown in the places where they were taken. I took a screenshot and sent it to some friends. They would reply to one with comments like "this is so cool", "how cool is this technology", etc. Yes, a few hundred bucks isn't cheap, but if you have the extra cash it's worth your attention. I put mine on a new Canon T6s when I got it about a month ago and it worked flawlessly. Just don't forget to go to the camera menu and turn on the GPS. The rest is really easy. I highly recommend it if you can tweak the price. Make a great Father's Day gift.
