. Kernels and Old Kernels which I bought at a great price in quantities of ยฃ5 to ยฃ15.

I bought these to extend the shelf life of whole grain and heirloom grains which I bought in 5-15lb quantities at a great price due to all the health issues associated with modern wheat. I was particularly impressed by the naked oatmeals. Just search "problems with modern wheat" and you might be surprised that Wikipedia is useless with its industrial references. I use OAP (oxygen absorbing bags) with grain. I also use them in sprouting grains to increase health benefits and eliminate antinutrients. I keep seedlings in jars and seal them with a food saver, otherwise mold or fungi will quickly form on the seedlings. I realize this is an overstatement, but it greatly increases the lifespan of the OAP. These are large containers with more oxygen in them, the packs have been used up. I divided the grains into smaller containers as quickly as possible. I made a huge mistake putting unused OAPs in one of those food storage bags and they don't keep their seals. Now I put them back in the liter jar with the food saver. I always soak the lids in hot water just before use, which gives me a better chance of a good seal. I keep at least one small mason jar full of sprouted type 6 grains, a few for almost a year before I use them and have never lost a seal or had any mold or mildew issues. The only improvement that would really help would be the addition of oxygen indicators. After using the OAP in one of the large containers, it is impossible to tell if there is any life left inside. Otherwise they do a good job.
