Review on πŸ’Ύ Enhanced SanDisk 32GB SDHC Flash Memory Card (SDSDB-032G-B35) with Potential Label Variation by Martin Alvarez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great for point and shoot but not great for a DSLR.

The quality of this card will depend on how you intend to use it. I bought it last year to use as a digital camera (12MP) on vacation and it worked great. No, a year later I bought a DSLR and didn't like it. My DSLR (26MP) creates files too large for this card to save quickly. Would you like to take a picture? Okay, but prepare to wait 20+ seconds for it to fully save to the card. During this time you will not be able to take any more photos. Do you want to record in burst mode? Forget it; it will not work. When I first bought this card, I wasn't aware that memory cards have speed ratings that indicate how fast they can process the data you want to write onto them. To complicate things further, there are two types of ratings: Speed Class and Ultra High Speed. The speed classes have four ratings: C2, C4, C6, and C10, meaning they can write data at 2MB/s, 4MB/s, 6MB/s, and 10MB/s, respectively, or UHS is included in UHS . U1 and U3 writing at 10MB/s and 30MB/s. The higher the data transfer rate in MB/s, the better the card. This card records at C4 speed (as indicated by the number 4 circled by C on the label). That's decent speed for small files, but since RAW photo files can get quite large when shooting high-resolution RAW files, this card isn't for you. This will absolutely freeze your camera. If you're interested in a DSLR SD card, check out something like the Lexar Professional 600 x 32GB SDHC UHS-I Flash Memory Card LSD32GCRBNA600. Since switching to the C10/U1 Lexar I've been much happier with my camera. The Sandisk C4 32GB stays in the limelight where it fits better.
