I used one of these in my new laptop in combination with a 960 Evo PCIe drive and the other in an external hard drive enclosure. There are no exposed circuit boards like a mechanical hard drive, just a solid plastic shell on the outside. With this drive, the time from pressing the power button to seeing the desktop appear on my screen is less than 10 seconds. With a standard hard drive, the boot time was almost a minute. In my experience, the hard drive is the biggest performance bottleneck on most PCs, making it worth investing in SSDs.
