My dog is 15 pounds, uses a small kennel for his cage and fits him perfectly. The inside is chew and scratch resistant and has a soft, non-slip lining underneath. He has multiple zips so you can get in and fix the bed and make sure he's comfortable. It has a very strong chemical smell to begin with (strong enough to notice) so once you open it and air it out your pet can get used to it. My dog is very nice to the cage but when he got in there he was whining a lot. I realized the smell must be awful and alien so I gave him some of his linens from another drawer and he immediately calmed down and was happy. Airing it out for a day or two before use will help him adjust and not panic! I am very thankful for not having to worry about long trips and not having to worry about putting a big heavy box in the back seat of my car!
