Review on 💾 UnionSine 120GB Ultra Slim Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 HDD Storage, Compatible with PC, Desktop, Laptop (Blue) by Rud Starks

This is the third USB3 portable hard drive I've bought in years, it's lighter and thinner than WD or Seagate. It easily fits in my pocket (not that I recommend it). Like other small portable hard drive manufacturers, UnionSine does not manufacture the hard drive in-house. Based on my Google searches and YouTube videos I believe the real hard drive inside is from WD. Performance is on par with the higher end, with write speeds held at 120 +/- 5MB/s when I copied a 60GB file to this hard drive on my Surface Book II. To achieve this speed, it is important to use the USB3 cable that came with the hard drive or a good quality cable. I first tested with the Samsung cable that came with my Galaxy S5 but only got 40MB/s. There's a mechanical HDD inside, not an SSD, but it's still very quiet. The sound was almost inaudible. It replaced my previous U disk and became my new drive for daily file backups due to its larger capacity (I have 1TB), quietness and easy portability.
