Mainly works with Dell Venue 7139

My use case for this product is a little different than most, but it mostly worked in the end. I have an 11" Dell Venue 7139 and its charging port is a micro USB - not my first choice but whatever. One day the tablet slipped from my lap onto the carpet. Not a huge drop, but it landed right on the plugged-in USB power cable. Everything is fine with the connector on the tablet, but the cable is definitely clogged. I was lucky not to damage the connector on the tablet. To avoid further damage in the future, I chose this product. In short, it works. when connected in the correct orientation. When plugged in properly, it will charge at the full 23W as intended. If you turn the magnetic plug 180 degrees, it only charges with 3 watts - too little to compensate for the deficit during operation. The Dell charger for these tablets is two volts, either 5 volts or 19.5 volts. Once it is connected to the tablet and set a higher charging speed, it will charge properly. I can only surmise that if the plug is connected "in the reverse direction" it won't properly adapt to the higher wattage. The cables are backlit so I can use them to quickly determine correct orientation. As for the strength of the magnet, everything is fine and will do. But the weight of the 2 ounce loading brick is enough to overwhelm the magnet's power. It's not exactly the power of MagSafe, but it does help keep your tablet's charging port safe and sound.

Pros
  • NetDot Magnetic Cable upgrade, the best magnetic charger on the market, super strong magnet, USB 2.0 fast charge and sync for Android phones. Both sides support charging, only one side to sync, the LED indicator will light up when the device is on.
Cons
  • Skimpy Instructions
