I have installed TRAK 4 in many places on many vehicles and it works in all places. TRUCK. So I attached 4 heavy duty magnets to the bottom of the TRAK 4 with waterproof epoxy and then wrapped the entire TRAK 4 in duct tape because I wanted it to be black. The bottom parts of my truck are black. Together the 4 magnets are TRAK4 sized. I didn't want to risk losing him. So I made sure the magnets are strong. Works very well. I've used it at various times for reporting purposes and find the battery life acceptable. I use 2 minutes a lot during the day and 1 hour at night and my TRAK 4 usually lasts 3 1/2 days. I was using every 2 minutes today and my battery went from 100% to 80% e.g. I've found that the battery sometimes drains faster under various extreme weather conditions. But I don't know if that's the reason or maybe the strength of the signal due to its position. I've used it in many cities and found that cell phone reception isn't very good in some areas, sometimes even a mile away. But when it says GPS, it's accurate to within a few feet. I love how you can set up geographic areas and have electronic or text reports sent when TRAK 4 enters/leaves that area. I have been using TRAK 4 daily for almost 2 months and am very satisfied. There was only one time the GPS jumped and was off 300 miles, but that only happened for a few minutes and then showed it back in the right place. I haven't used the app. But the site is great and my only complaint about it is the lag in updating and showing history at times. For me it takes 2 minutes but sometimes it skips 10 minutes without a report. It's random. But it happens and that's the only complaint I have. I have researched a lot about GPS. I bought this because it's 3G, weatherproof, inexpensive, real-time tracking, lower monthly rates than everyone else, and no contract. I am very happy with my TRAK 4. I feel like I made the right choice even if I accidentally lose it. I would buy another.
