My wife and I bought this to tie our 40kg terrier mix to when we sit on our front yard or when we go camping and don't want her to run away. The day we received it (along with the 25ft cord) she ran towards the other dog at full speed and did a backflip when she reached the end (I hope she doesn't make that mistake yet once). The anchor didn't budge. My only complaint is that it's difficult to spin in hard packed dirt with bare hands. I often find a strong stick, stick it in the handle and use it to spin. In short, if you plan on plugging it in and leaving it there, that's fine. If you stick it in the ground all the time, the handle will make it a little PITA. Update: 7/4/18 Well the handle broke off of it. We took it camping and tried to screw it into the ground with a 6" stick and the handle just snapped off. It's past the return period so I'll probably just buy one from Walmart and see if it holds up any better. In short, I'm not sure I would recommend this. I suppose if you stick it in the ground and leave it there you'll be fine. But we only screwed it into the ground a dozen times before it broke, so I'm not overly impressed. The metal brackets holding the handle feel fragile. Or maybe I just don't know my strength.
