Please don't waste your money! Poorly designed product.

I bought this trimmer after the blades on my older, inexpensive X-Acto trimmer wore out and I couldn't find replacement blades. Tonight I used this new one extensively for the first time and damn I was disappointed. The whole item is very light and flimsy and won't stay in place when I've tried to cut. There aren't little rubber feet on the bottom to hold it in place like the old model. The blue guide does not stand out and the color is so deep blue that it is difficult to see the correct alignment of the discs underneath. The blade is sharp enough but I had to hold the knife and paper with my left hand and push hard with my right to cut and a few times I didn't hold the paper tight enough, the paper slipped off and I messed up what I did had cut out. Because the blue guide is solid, the trimmed scraps kept getting stuck under it, and I had to tap the cutter or dig with my finger to remove the cuts. What a disappointment! I threw it away. What were the x-acto designers thinking? They had to stick to their old reliable design. I plan to try the more expensive Fiskars product and see how it performs.
