Hard to pinpoint these

Now that I've poked around a bit, I'm not quite sure how to categorize this webcam or what exactly it wants to be in terms of design. In practice, it's the same as many others, except that it doesn't have a simple standard attachment mechanism and a very long cable. I've wanted one of these cameras for a few years and was glad to get it. This particular camera has no distortion and a relatively narrow field of view compared to many modern webcams. And I think it's very well made, with a metal body, a glass lens and all the quality from top to bottom. Since I mainly use this as a webcam for meetings and family gatherings etc I found my own method of making a mounting arm with a threaded socket for tripods etc. Looks a little strange, but it's functional. It doesn't come with any mounting hardware as standard, you have to screw it to a wall, table or whatever to keep it in place. It's big enough to work with many pinch-style phone holders these days, if that helps. As for the picture quality, it's very good. Definitely way better than a mini or if not most webcams sold today are 1080P or even 2K. However, when I use this on several different computers and many different online meeting forums, I get wildly different results with this camera on different computers. For some it looks extremely pale and blurry but sharp, for others the reds stand out too much against the faces and so on. And yet, for the most part, the image is sharp and clear, generating commentary from the other side of the conversation. While I definitely think this beats any $50-75 webcam by a mile, I wouldn't put it in the same category as what you would get with a video converter like Camlink 4K or something and using a dedicated converter Mirrorless or SLR camera with video. As I said, if I use it fairly frequently now, I think the most effective goal is to set it and forget its location and turn it on and off as needed according to your purposes like a conference room, the living room or Office. Not the best travel companion, but I don't think it should be either. I've used this in many different meetups and video making efforts and it's never broken once for me or anything, so I'm generally very happy with it. Highly recommended.
