This toothbrush is very soft. It feels like it's not a purge, but it's true. It's soft on the gums. My issue with the brush is how close the bristles are. They are pressed together so tightly that there is no air flow between the bristles, which would effectively dry between the brushes. This causes microbes to multiply in the toothbrush. I had to soak the brush in a mixture of half water and half hydrogen peroxide every few days to kill germs. I think you could soak it in mouthwash too. So I think if you like brushing your teeth with a germ growth magnet you will love this brush. I personally found it disgusting.
