The fabric on the dress is very flowy and has a smooth texture. It has a nice flair to the sleeve and an A line shape. The dress is a shorter style and is not going to hit at knee level unless you are fairly short. I am 5' 8" so it is a few inches above my knee. It still looks nice because it is a loose fit. If it was short and tight it would be a little too risque for me. Overall it is a cute little black dress and you could accesorize with many different items to give it different looks for different occasions.
