To be honest I got this as a waterproof pet bed, not a changing pad. My girl Fiona loves to lie in bed but she sneezes and snores on everything so something easy to clean was just up her alley. Try to keep the child in place. However, if they were really curvaceous, it wouldn't hold them back. It also arrived rolled and tied, with a carry case that's said to be safe to store and carry around. However, rolling will wrinkle and deform all the pages, and they don't flatten very well. The cats are interested in it, but I don't think I'd be very happy with it being given as a changing pad that would look decorative as well. Functional yes, but not exactly pretty.
