Review on Alaterre Furniture Hairpin Natural End Table: Embrace the Beauty of Live Edge Design by Roberta Henderson

Hairpin table - living room furniture

You need to attach the heavy metal pins. The whole block is very heavy. The worst thing is that the table is not the same as in the photo but a one-off. Nowhere in the advertisement is it indicated that the table is glued together from leftovers. What I received was actually 4 pieces of glued scraps. It looked terrible. And then when turned over, it literally broke in half (after installing the legs). The legs were easy to install with the hardware provided, they provided the hex key needed to install the leg. It's a shame that the tabletop was so badly made. I would not have bought this table if I had known before I bought it that it glues the pieces together. Other things I noticed, the table is about 1 1/2 inches thick. The edges aren't as "natural" as you might think, they are rounded and chunky in a very unnatural way - i.e. machined to try and get a natural edge. I have attached photos of the experience - very disappointing in so many ways - including the refund. I rarely have to write negative reviews, but in this case I have to tell the truth. I cannot recommend this table to anyone.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish
