I bought the big one because I never had a problem. The large one was very narrow and when I looked at the back of the pack it said it was a 33 waist. The big one should be 36-38. Typical average - waist 32-34. This brand has XL for a 35 waist and XXL for a 37 waist. They stretch a bit but not enough to fit the waist of a typical tall person. You just have to stay on the treadmill to lose weight to fit into them.
