I hung a 59lb antique mirror on my wall with this item. At first I was worried it wouldn't be safe enough, but I'm very happy with the results. I was amazed at how easy this thing was to install. The walls in my house are drywall painted with thin construction paint. I just pushed the boots in with my thumbs. I suspect that with many coats of paint it would be more difficult to put the slats in first. so I could adjust the angle of the mirror once it was hung. There are two sets of clips that are inserted into the wall: the first set is on the crossbar itself and the second set is hard. The small hooks are on the extreme edges of the pole. This product works well for items that have hanging wire on the back, but would not work if there was already more than one fixed hanging point on the back of the mirror.
