They are a lot cheaper than 16 gauge and 1 of the 2 wires in the cable is NOT copper.
Cons: They are much worse than 16 gauge (AWG). The inside of these cables is a plastic rod that should contain copper; As a result, the gauge of these cables does NOT match the advertised 16 gauge, when in fact their electrical conductivity is much less. The diameter of the actual wires is less than 0.5mm, which is much smaller than the cross-section advertised. Also remember that 1 of the 2 wires in each "cable pair" is NOT copper but either tin or aluminum. or alloy. Tin and aluminum are inferior in electrical conductivity to copper. Pros: No.
