We have two cats and needed a way to keep them out of the bassinet in our room. I didn't want to block them completely because that would annoy us all for various reasons. And it's cats, they'll want more just because you're trying to keep them away. We use a Graco Travel Lite as a tote and the mesh works great. The L-shaped zipper makes it easy to open the bag and take the child out. The drawcord at the bottom made it easy to carry the smaller Travel Lite. My cats love to stand on my bed and look in, but when it's closed they don't try to get in. On our first night home I forgot to close it after taking the baby out to feed and a cat got in but that was the only time. time and if I leave it open and blank they will ignore it now. No problems with the zipper as another reviewer mentioned. Easy to put on and take off the carrycot. You can still see the baby on the monitor as a result and we will end up using it as a real insect repellent even in the normal size packaging as it is quite large.
