The only downside to these containers is that pitting can occur if you microwave them with highly acidic or fatty foods. Tomato sauce and the like can stain them, but that goes for all of these products. I have found that I can thaw one of these with homemade soup or similar, enough to be able to pour the frozen soup into a ceramic bowl or mug to finish heating. This allows for easy storage but avoids pitting. We use them for chopped onions, olives, peanut butter and jelly, literally anything. In the freezer, apart from soup, leftovers, jam from the freezer, etc. They fold well and, like some container systems, are easy to open. The top shelf is dishwasher safe. Convenient size for 2 cups. We also use and love the 1 quart size and I just discovered they now make 4 oz and 8 oz which I immediately ordered.
