Living in a swamp comes with predictable outdoor humidity and this dehumidifier does wonders for indoor humidity. Since receiving this, the humidity in my home has gone from 77% to 48%. There is a noticeable difference in the "humidity" of the air in my home, and the comfort level has increased. NOTES: Make sure you remove the hose attachment from the outlet reservoir when you first install the unit, as it will inexplicably leak if you don't attach it. 't. (It's on a sticker, but mine was placed on the packaging material and left out.) The unit is easy to move and has wheels, but 'might' be considered 'heavy' for some people. The tipping bucket occasionally gets stuck, causing a "drop" of water to spurt out when you pull it out to replace (I haven't used the drain hose feature yet). - At the very beginning, if you have an area that stays fairly wet, you should keep an eye on the water level. For the first week I had to empty the container 3-4 times a day. Yes, it can generate a lot of heat. That's what I expect from every dehumidifier.
