I wish I could do 2 separate reviews on this thing. I would give the car a full 5 stars. It is of excellent quality. Collecting was a lot of fun. That works great. The resulting prints (even with the "Fast" setting) come out better than I expected. The problem lies in the software, which is not included in the package. NO 3D design software. They mention a couple of programs they think can be used, but they don't provide a way to create your own objects. This is an even more serious problem than it seems at first glance. You want to print something. You must first draw it with a 3D design program - not included. Your design should then be converted to an "STL" file without the help of Snapmaker. Only then can you use the software that came with the device to convert the "STL" file to a "G" file that makes the device print-ready. It takes 3 separate software steps to get the device to print and that's just the software that came with the device to run any of the three. For that price I expected and envisioned a complete system to build and build anything I could think of. I'm very happy with the car, it's great. If anyone already has the software to run a 3D printer they will be very happy with this purchase. I'm not a "geek", just a retired hobbyist, and my overall experience has been disappointing and frustrating. PS: Sketchup offers a free version of their 3D design program. Create sketchup. It is bare bones free. It does not come with the required "STL" converter, but one can be added. For simple designs this works. Luckily I've already used it to design woodworking projects. PS: Very important. It seems that the universal standard for 3D printers is to only use metric units (mm). If you design something in inches, it will scale down (2 inches -> 2mm). Just increase it to 2540 and it will be perfect.
