So I really wanted to love this somewhat stretchy dress and wear it to an event but felt that it was not the most flattering on my lower back fat area, my midsection, and my breasts. I've very conscious of fit though and don't like to go out with any bulges showing as personal preference. I would feel a lot better in this dress with 10+lb off of my 175lb pear shaped body. The material is body hugging so if you have a bulge, your shapewear needs to be able to smooth it out or it will show. Even my shapewear was slightly showing, where I had folded up the thigh area due to the length of the slit coming up vs long shapewear, but you could see the line in my thigh area when I did so. It did not do an awful job at hiding my stomach but it didn't do the best either. I also felt in pictures that my breasts look like they were a bit flattened/ lowered which is surprising considering I have a relatively smaller chest at a 36B and that does not frequently happen. I am 5'8 with a regular proportion between torso and legs and did not find that the slit went too high. Although I did feel better wearing shapewear that had a short built-in just to prevent any problems on stairs. If you are in between sizes I definitely would say size up and pay particular attention to the waist and chest area when calculating size as there is less forgiveness from the waist up on stretchiness. I do really like the style and cut though, and hope to be able to wear it next year after losing the excess pounds that made me uncomfortable in it.
