Review on 🐍 Exo Terra Glass Natural Terrarium: The Ultimate Habitat for Your Reptile Friends by Adam Bates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very well packed! Great buy for beginners. Get a CHAMELEON!

I read all the reviews and was wary of buying it from Revain. I knew I could easily return it if it arrived broken. The first time around I decided to buy from Revain as my local pet store didn't have the size I needed. My 12 x 12 x 18 arrived boxed in an exact size box boxed in another box filled with sealed air and styrofoam wrap. It could be dropped and had 1.5 inches on each side to dent before even touching the cage itself. There were many FRAGILE GLASS labels on the box. I have all sizes as I have over 50 reptiles in my reptile room. Larger sizes feel like they "shift" when moved. Be careful not to break the seals, they hold water well if not broken. I bought it to add dwarf chameleons to my reptile room. She seems a lot stronger than other cages I own, although I think this may be due to her being so small. First Cage I have this little cage next to the DIY Dart Frog Cage. I don't care about the styrofoam background. I breed and feed Blaptica Dubia roaches although I had no problem with them hiding behind it, it just looks crappy. Pros: - Excellent cable management - Good airflow - Offers high humidity and airflow - The heat mat (8W) does not break the glass even when it reaches 120F. Don't try to put a 24w mat on it without a thermostat. I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't spend money on it. - Holds water very well, won't leak until you pull the seals off when unpacking. I find it better to remove the box from the larger sizes than to remove the cage and leave the box intact. Simply demolish the box - the doors can be opened very easily. Over time, there will also be no difficulties in opening. - The door orientation is ideal for closing any gaps in the front. Be careful if you have a fast reptile, they can stick their heads (bearded dragons and lions) in the gap between the door rabbet and the side panel. Cons: - Thin glass, can be sharp. - Silicone seals. It can be for and against. Because I feed dubia it's a scam because they can climb on it Luckily they never ran away because the top seals are so good. I've seen my chameleons eat the dubia on the silicone seal so can't complain. The aluminum shade will rust if you don't treat it with clear coat which is used for car paint. Buy a can at Walmart. I do this about a month before I plan on adding animals and have never had a problem in the last 8 years. I have about 35 of these cells of various sizes, and I've done this with all but the first one I bought. If you have an animal that doesn't need high humidity, you can skip this step. Consider your heating needs, I only keep animals that need heating under the tank or to the side so I don't have to worry about how the heat lamp might interact with the clear layers. I keep these animals in other tanks that are shallow rather than high. The clips that close the door will break over time. I've found that removing the clip that closes the doors and replacing it with a magnetic locking system and lock works a lot better than trying to fix the door clip when it fails with an animal in it. Do this before adding animals. Dubia roaches can pass through the wire routing holes at the top rear of the cage. This review was written based on my experience with this type of cell over the past 8 years. I would recommend it to any reptile owner, from the beginner to the advanced keeper.
