They're pretty thick, but that's probably a good thing. My medium sized 4 month old daughter is currently wearing a size 6 to 12 month. For reference, she weighs 13 pounds and 24 inches. My 2 year old son (small for his age) currently wears size 12-18 months. He is 34 inches and 24 pounds. We bought these to use in place of the regular Huggies nappies for extra protection and to prevent pool leaks during swim lessons. We also let my son wear one under his swim trunks. They feel comfortable and really look like swim trunks when worn alone. As I mentioned, they're a good fit and I think they'll stick with those twos. The material is quite thin and not as cuddly as Pampers or Huggies swim diapers. If worn alone I don't think they will hold liquid number two like they would with infants, formula or a breastfed baby. it came out just perfect. No shrinkage or change in shape. you need one Probably no. But if you want something more comfortable than diapers or haggis or want to prevent brown leakage in the pool then I would suggest these. In general I was satisfied with the quality and purpose of the purchase.
