This is a covered paracord made of 7 strands nylon, 1 strand cotton, 1 wick and 1 braid. Each of these strands consists of 3 twisted strands except for the braided cord. True to size, I order 100ft and get 101ft. It has no metal thread, which is not a deal breaker. I wish it had 500 pounds of tensile strength, but again, that's not the deciding factor. The quality of the paracord is very good for the money. The fiery thread is filled with wax, so it must be waterproof and easy to fluff. I used to be a parachute manufacturing inspector. This is not a military spec or PIA (parachute) spec, military spec is overrated especially for consumer products. So far I have not tested the stretch, pH and elongation of this paracord. From what I've seen so far this is a quality survival paracord at a reasonable price. BTW, stay away from Kevlar, it's like a shelf and the UV resistance is terrible unless you buy really expensive Kevlar. Remember, check the entire length of the cable, all companies only do lot size checking. If you want real specs with certifications, buy a PIA certified cable, but you certainly will NOT have those different strands and it will cost you dearly. Most paracords should last 20 years in the shade with no rain. Miles may vary depending on storage conditions. Overall this is a great product, everything they claim is true. Paracord at the best price.
