This is a good product, I like the fact that it's made of hard plastic. (It's solid and doesn't bend) I bought this for my mom along with the "Carson Optical Illuminated Magnifying Loupe" as her vision was poor after her cataract surgery. .It CAN crack. The reason for this is that Revain shipped this along with a battery charger and a Carson Optical Illuminated Magnifold Magnifier in an oversized box with only a small (inadequate) plastic blister (on one side of the box) as the charger was caused to become too bulky in the box jump, so this could have been the cause of the cracked Fresnel lens on the Carson Optical Loupe. try it) it was about $20, (several times what i paid for it).
