I always try to have a regular phone line at home to dial 911 as I'm not 100% sure I can dial 911 from home from a cell phone have to call. So after upgrading my wiring I had to rewire some things and it worked out great instead of running around looking for a tone that would tell you straight away if you had one or not. This saved me a lot of time and I was able to get everything up and running very quickly and also test it in my area. If the phone service goes down, I can know tonight if it's my phone or my tile.
