Police cameras are generally excellent cameras with the following characteristics: lower resolution, lower frame rate and lack of stabilization. Long battery life – you can rely on the declared endurance. It's designed for full shifts without being tied to a USB power source. Infrared night vision (turns on with an audible click in low light conditions, can also be switched manually) Overall reliability in terms of better thermal conductivity and shock resistance Password-protected storage and settings (higher security, but can be a source of annoyance in low-security use cases /be inefficient). If the password is accidentally changed or forgotten you may be locked out.) I used this in the clear badge pocket of my reflective vest for 1 hour in a poorly ventilated area. Where a traditional action cam easily overheats, this body cam continues to shoot like a champ. Whilst the box includes clips etc for use over clothing, I really like being able to use the camera from the safer, enclosed Velcro section of my name tag purse. The maximum quality of this camera is 11 MB/s. at 1440p/29.97 fps. Each video fragment is 10 minutes long and occupies 805 MB. The camera's total usable capacity is 58.2GB, or about 12 hours of video, which coincidentally is just enough to fill an expected battery life of 11 hours. Since the video quality isn't very good at 1440p (see image), there's no harm in going with a lower resolution and increasing the memory even more. Unlike other police cameras, this camera glows with a bright white light instead of flashing red and blue. It's good for seeing things and avoiding random impersonations unless you're a cop. The big disadvantage of police bodycams is the lack of expandability via microSD. While a 400GB MicroSD card costs less than $50, this camera limits you to a tiny fraction of that space from the camera's internal storage. The internal storage is non-removable, which helps in terms of security, but also means that 1) you will be limited to 64GB of disk space and will have a relatively short browsing time, and 2) if you need to back up files, the copying speed will be slow. While my microsd cards achieve copy speeds of 80MB/s, this camera can only achieve copy speeds of 14MB/s via the mini USB port, which takes about 1 minute per GB. I like that this camera is relatively quiet and I don't feel the need to disable the startup/shutdown/button sounds. Other body cams make louder noises, which may be more useful for getting people's attention, especially when using the siren feature. Therefore, it is a great solution for all-day human surveillance with all the features,
