This is a kite winder - not rocket science but the design is not good enough to focus on flying a kite. You will look at your reel more than your kite. The edges where you hold the product with your finger are not evenly and irregularly shaped, which makes your hand start to hurt. Not to mention the size - it didn't fit my normal sized 14 year old daughter. If you're not careful, the leash will come loose and you could end up in a mess. A few more guides to keep the line in place would help. If you let the take-up reel start skipping the thread and when the wind is strong, it will rotate quickly and the handle might hurt your child's hand when trying to stop the take-up reel. It looks good and performs well - if you get it right you can launch the kite faster than hand-winding. The line that came with the winder was pretty good. Not worth returning and looking for something else - so I'll just keep it to myself.
