Quilts and sets too small

We bought a king size set because we have a king size bed. The fitted sheet does not fit. It's too small and slides off the corners of the bed as soon as you sit or lie down, and the duvet doesn't even cover all sides of the bed. We don't even have a California double bed, just a standard double bed. waste of money.
