Review on πŸ”§ Toto THU123 Replacement Valve Cap Assy: Top-Quality Solution for Optimal Performance by Bobby Inappropriate

Revainrating 5 out of 5

OEM Toto Valve Cover works great in a 3 year old Toto Drake toilet

This diaphragm and lid assembly is a perfect match for our CST743S#01 Drake Circular Toilet which has a blue plastic cover over the float assembly that we purchased March 2016. Three years and almost three months of service is normal as these years have passed without problems so far. The original Toto part has some ridges on the membrane, but this part has a smooth finish. The material is a bit softer and maybe more resilient than the original. The functionality of the new part is in no way inferior to the original design. Replacement takes about two minutes if done carefully, assuming the toilet shut-off is working properly. Turn off the water in the toilet. Remove the top cap by pushing up on the tab facing the front of the tank while holding the fill assembly. Remove the float by squeezing the two float arms together and then lifting the entire float. Then rotate the cover assembly counterclockwise until it is free. Slide the black fill tube onto the new block. Put the cap back on and put everything back in place - don't forget to put the float in place. I am giving this part five stars because after three years it is available as an original Toto part and of course because it fits and works as intended. The price confuses me a little, especially since a similar part sells for about $5 at a local big store. But price isn't everything - I bought Toto because I wanted a reliable toilet that was easy to service when needed.
