My daughter loves tutus so we have loads of them. It doesn't itch, it's just not super soft flowy tulle like a lot of them. It's also see-through (there's no layer of fabric underneath to cover it up, so I'm glad I'm wearing jump pants underneath. Also, my daughter wears these from age 2 to 8 at age 4, and I think so , it will be too short for an 8 year old as it is quite short for my daughter who is about 40 inches tall it will fit for what we bought it for and she loves it so its important.
