The velcro on the inside of one of the shoes is still open.
I have severe swelling in the upper part of both feet. Yes, these shoes fit better than most, but the Velcro on the inside of a shoe is open and irritates my skin or chafes holes when I'm wearing stockings. I'll try duct tape, but I don't have to with a new pair of shoes. Also, they initially felt so supportive that after a few days of wearing the support of the cushion in the shoe almost flattened out.
