I bought a used Capresso 425 and it arrived broken but I gave it a try and was impressed with the overall design etc but especially the temperature of the water dispensed. I used the Theropen instant reading and got readings in the high 190's with a peak as high as 200, all water, no coffee in the basket. I returned the damaged unit and ordered a new one which we used for 1 week. In this case, the temperature test reached a maximum value of 203 degrees. I grind my coffee (Costco) with a grinder and use Melitta Junior Basket Coffee Filters (1-4 cups) $1.49 $0.20 Use paper filters without the included strainer and yes they are larger than you need but no trimming necessary. Wallyworld also has similar filters priced at $1.38/$200.
