Sorry. Maybe someone else has better experience with this product BUT in my experience the sound quality of this radio is terrible (probably because of its antenna appearance). I remember when my father put me in front of our first TV and held up rabbit ears. (I think his theory was that human bodies work better than receiving antennas!) This is how an external GPX antenna seems to work, so get ready to dial in 50 years ago. a spanish music channel that is loud/clear so if you are spanish you will love it. The tuner on the side is a bit inconvenient, but I don't know where else it could be. It's just exhausting to have your hand in the air for 20 minutes trying to tune into a station with normal music and reception. I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I was hoping to get ONE station (preferably NPR) that I could leave and listen to while doing my kitchen duties. but no. NPR is broadcast from 3 sites, but only one has static reception and "walks" away from the station. Grrrrr. It finally turned out that I had spent $10 more ($44) on the item than it cost at Wal-Mart ($34), so I fooled myself. I hope there are no flakes when I return this item if snow/sleet/road permitting. So disappointed with the radio/cd (unreliable) in general - plus my cupboards now have 4 big holes! My advice? If you really need an under the counter radio, treat yourself to another brand (although Sony's prices seem out of the ordinary).
