I think this will come in handy when renting a car. A few notes: 1) I've read reviews of the suction cup but didn't really care. Then when I realized it, it made sense. The first. The actual suction cup attached to the device is actually very sticky compared to the traditional rubber suction cup. I think the sticky stuff adds extra grip to the windshield or other mounting surface. Then use the clip for extra suction. Keep in mind that removing the entire holder will take some effort. The good thing is that you can wash the sticky part of the suction. Dry and the stickiness will come back for the next use. 2) There is a plastic plate (like a thin stand) with double-sided tape to attach to the dashboard. Most strokes are not smooth, so this part will help solve this problem. I don't plan on using this as the target is a rental car windshield.
