Review on πŸ–ΌοΈ Logan ProFrame F300-1 Studio Joiner by Sasha Hsiao

Good device

I read a lot of negative reviews about this product. I have the same problems with this carpenter as many others who are complaining. But with a little practice I find it a good product. Don't expect perfect curves right away - it takes practice. Most complaints are that the front stretches out and leaves a gap as you push the V-nails back. The reason is the lack of support under the frame and there is an easy fix for that. Make a simple gusset out of two pieces of the same scrap frame material BUT MAKE IT BACK. As a result you will have a corner with a mirror image of the contour to place under the corner of your frame to provide full support no matter where you place the V-nail. With this method, I rarely use the Logan Support Bracket that comes with the woodworking machine. Also keep an eye on the calibration of your saw - you MUST check the 90 degree vertical and 45 degree saw angle with a carpenter's square. It has to be perfect; these angles are oversensitive to very small angle errors. Otherwise there will be gaps, no matter how well you use your carpentry machine. Don't count on your saw to stay calibrated forever. Drifts when used. Check it often. I check mine every 50-75 cuts. And finally, I'm going to use Logan's suggestion to paint the edges of the joints with wood stain. It hides minor joint defects. I use a colored pencil - it's easy to use and doesn't require you to open a can of paint every time I want to connect a corner. I've been using woodwork for about 6 months - I have no problem getting good connections.

Love love love it. Paid back first show. Made 18 frames with little to no problems for a beginner
