Wilkinson Sword supplied a very good quality boar bristle shaving brush. The bristles are packaged in a hard plastic base, which is fine because sometimes wood doesn't last as long as you'd like due to water seeping into the wood. This is great for beginners and novices and allows them to get used to using the item and later if they look for something more to their liking then they have a base level. It hasn't been used enough to see if the bristles will break or come loose. Cleaning is easy, just warm water. You want the bristles to stay dry between uses. Some men prefer thicker stubble, while others prefer a rounded base. This is good to start with to see if you like the old shave.
