I have a gas stove that absolutely dehumidifies the air. No matter what smaller humidifiers I tried, I couldn't reliably keep my house humid, and this is Texas, so we're not using the stove enough to justify putting a humidifier in it. This article was a find. It works with my entire hose and reaches the set humidity level without any problems. I had the owner's manual, so I didn't have that problem, and my gas stove is fine, so there's probably something in that person's water. It holds a lot of water and can pump it out. As a note for other people searching, I have an 1100 square foot house and a humidity of 55-60% because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I am prone to dehydration. If you are unfamiliar with wickless humidifiers, be aware that they can and will release a white powder when you use tap water. The harder your water, the worse. However, there are cheap humidifier filters at Revain that will work for a while if you just drop them in water. I haven't had any major issues with white powder. The only downside is that you have to be careful when pouring water from above as the opening where the steam comes out is not in the best place. I don't know if pouring water right in there would hurt, I don't think so because of steam escaping, but I don't want to find out from personal experience. The only other downside is that it's quite noisy as it pumps water from the pool to the humidifier part itself. However, I don't use it in the bedroom, so I don't care.
