The simplest and most beautiful child locks I have ever seen. You simply slide the tab and then pull to open to close, gently push back in and it snaps into place. Because it doesn't have a streamlined design like other locks, it can be used on a much wider range of cabinets and doors. We have easily installed it on different types of cabinets as well as on the toilet. We've been using it for about a week and it's survived a few hits with no sign of stress. I'm really concerned that they are simple enough for my child to understand before she is old enough to understand the danger they protect. And once they're in place, there's no room to change, so make sure you put them as high and close together as possible, not allowing extra wiggle room. Also, the locks only slide on one side. So if you're right-handed and your spouse is left-handed, maybe talk about the importance of guiding the latches. Those worries aside, we like them so much we bought a second set to replace the ones that weren't perfect.
