This set of five shelves is small. While the description says the shelves are made of wood, they have a manufactured feel similar to plastic. They look like wood but don't feel like it. I had no problems at all with attaching the brackets to the shelves or to our walls. The shelves are very thin; in fact, these are the thinnest shelves I've ever seen. They are capable of supporting small, light weight items.Despite these being small, they look very nice on my wall and they display the items I wanted them to display. I put 3 in my living room and the other two are in the bathroom. No complaints from me about this set. Be aware of what you're purchasing. Read the seller's description closely.
