I had a couple of Qi charging pads and cases. They are quite simple in mechanics and design. Coil or 2 (or 3) that align with your phone's Qi receiver and charge wirelessly. It does the job. It's small, light and seems to charge well. My wife and I got a brand new Samsung Note 9 and our current chargers didn't charge the phone due to the coil not being able to align. Our pads are round and have a bright ring. It is not comfortable next to the bed. So I got them because they didn't have a backlight and were similar in size and shape to a phone. I was hoping for something simpler to just hang up the phone and not worry about placement. It works like a budget model, I have to look at it and move the phone around to make sure it's lined up correctly. I'll probably use them as backups and get a stand that's more user-friendly. But what worries me the most? Costs. I paid $40 for two chargers. There was a $5 coupon for each one I used. It's more in the $10 range of chargers. The list price of $25 each is more than I would have paid if I had first seen and held them in my hands.
