Review on GE Lighting 16774 40 Watt Halogen Bulb: Powerful Illumination for Any Space by Rob Overturf

I was so impressed with the look of these bulbs after years of using boring old clear (and SUPER DUSTY) bulbs. My bathroom mirror needed an update and it was perfect! At first I was disappointed that the top of the bulb had letters painted on it - when I turned it on the mirror the black paint/letters were very clear and it wasn't a sticker. Clearly a design flaw and they should have placed the bulb description closer to the base where you screw it in. I did, however, come up with a trick to remove the lettering - just gently file the surface and small creases/corners with a nail file/nail file and it comes off instantly (just scratches a little when you're done, but don't worry crazy - be careful). All in all I would buy them again but I doubt the manufacturer's design genius in the stupid placement of that very obvious black colour. It was an extra step that spoiled the overall splendor at that moment, but I'm still happy with the light. None broke and was securely packaged.
