You get what you pay for

This case arrived quickly and in good condition. It looks good and the build quality is likely to match the price (i.e. low). The case is fine for home use, but I bought it for my son to take to college and I don't think it will stand up to dorm use/abuse. Handles - low-quality plastic strips, walls - thin chipboard, fittings (hinges, lock, etc.) - all low-quality. The rivets used to secure the hardware protrude through the inner lining, giving it an unfinished look, and there's nothing holding the lid open, making it easy to pull the hinges open or accidentally close the lid. Everything about him screams "handle with care". It's also slightly smaller than other "standard size" suitcases, at least an inch or two in each dimension. However, it was delivered to my door for only $70. Since shipping will likely be half the cost of the item to return, I will be keeping it around the house for use and also looking for something more permanent to take my son to college.
