Serves my purpose

I was looking for lint-free cotton fabrics that I can use as oil rags to season my cast iron pans. I can't remember which link I googled but it led to the Cast Iron Pan forum which had a link to them. The guy who posted it said he specifically ordered them to "season his cast-iron pans." Ironically, I already added the black pack to my cart and his link led to the gray ones. Received them today and I have to say this: I noticed a few reviews complaining about lint. Most of them didn't say anything about pre-washing before use, as it was instructed (and most people would think) to do so. When my younger brother (now 28) was 4 years old I learned how to shake out clothes before putting them in the washing machine and drying them. Otherwise, the washer and dryer will not only be filled with lint, but also with sand/dirt, snails, worms, nails, grass, shells or stones and more. Simply shaking the towels (strong cotton) got rid of all the lint from what I saw as there is NO HAIR in my washer or dryer. There were 3-5 strings hanging out of the dryer, which didn't really matter, especially when you know that "string burning" rather than just cutting it will stop/prevent unraveling. Yes, they are a little thin, but not that much. thin so it cannot be used for about 6 months unless bleach is used (which destroys cotton/materials like mops). There are many other detergents that do not attack clothes. Anyway, I've seasoned my cast iron pans with one and wiped it down and it left a minimal amount of lint. Even a little fluff may be due to using (solid) lard instead of (oily) flaxseed. It was still a great job considering paper towels leave behind fluffy paper towels. I believe they will be at their best when hacked. I honestly don't understand most of the reviews complaining about strings, pile, thinness etc. Obviously you've shopped at Dollar Tree and Dollar General to know you're getting there, so why complain that you're not used to using it is the same quality if not less than what you get from here to have.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
