Suitable for surface swimming only, not for actual snorkeling. Especially when snorkeling in the sea. I bought these for my wife and I on our honeymoon in Maui. I was skeptical after reading reviews of full face models but decided to give it a try just in case. Tried a good 3 times in different locations and they stayed in the apartment after the 2nd day. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: Fantastic field of view! You can hardly see that you are wearing a mask. Unfortunately, those are the only positive points. Cons: 1) Breathing is VERY difficult for anything other than slow controlled breathing. If you need to take deep breaths or breathe fast after swimming or battling the current, it's not possible! You literally have to take your mask off to get oxygen. The hoses are too narrow, it's like breathing through a wide straw. 2) The snorkel is too short to handle any wave height other than a soft roll. When the water surface isn't glassy, you often take a breath, only to find you can't because the wave rolls over a short tube. 3) You cannot dive below the surface, literally not even 1 foot. As soon as you do this, the seal around your cheeks will break and the water will quickly fill the mask. This can happen with any mask, but they have water running down the front of your face so you can't see anything, rather than just filling from the bottom like a regular mask. 4) VERY easy to scratch! There were only scratches from putting them in a beach bag with towels and a few bottles of water. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WILL ONLY USE IN THE POOL AND WANT TO FIND IN IT. Hopefully this helps ensure no one else messes up their snorkeling. adventures with them.
