I don't think what I think of this product is as important as what my two 6.5 lb kittens think of it. and they love it! But here's the reality: it doesn't hold its shape well (despite following the manufacturer's molding instructions) and it's not soft, but it's a dark little hole that they can jump in and out of, rest, hide, if they get scared, or pounce on a surprise attack! The color is exactly as advertised, a lovely rich deep pink with a splash of purple burgundy around the hole. The fur is thick and dense, very resistant to scratches and snake bites, well-made part! They are both brought into the cave together, although it is more likely that one will be lurking inside the other rather than hugging from the inside. I have to prop and shape it quite a bit but it doesn't bother me - it's mostly for me, my kitties don't seem to have any trouble squirming in it when it sinks. Pro tip - twist it halfway and set it on the opposite side, this seems to help keep it open and round. It's also a good place to rest when it's flattened! Generally the kittens come in, they're happy, so I'm happy. I would consider buying more of this product to place in other parts of the house for our boys! ps - I'm writing this review for the third time because the cute annoying cats on the keyboard are pushing all the buttons!
