The style, fonts, and neutral mix of colors in this calendar appeal to me as much as the white arch of dates being slightly off center on each page. It is both modern and classic. Our family uses a central, hands-on calendars. I put some effort into finding "the one” each year. I have switched from themed art calendars to simple ones that don’t call attention to themselves, ones that give us space to write and read our own entries. My annual quest is now for the best layout with a simple, impactful design.This one is superior in all but one respect. I had hoped for slightly thicker paper, as advertised. It is not thin paper, but it is not heavy cardstock, either. It will do since the paper chosen is fairly matt and the weight of the calendar is adequate. It is not cheap looking or feeling, just less than excellent. I am hoping it will not curl but won’t know for a while. If I could assign four and a half stars, I would.One of the features I like best about it this calendar is that the numbers of the month carry over from one month to the next, duplicated. This might seem confusing or unnecessary, but this element allows you to remember appts in relation to beginnings and ends of the months. I have missed meetings in the past because I have not always made the visual association that this calendar makes for me. Have you ever been put in a tight spot simply because you hadn’t seen the appt you had to keep was on the next flipped page, first day of the week? That won’t happen if you use this calendar.I also like the off-white choice of color for the days of the month against the darker background; there is contrast within the calendar page, but not over-stated. And, whatever we enter will be easily seen. The simple arch on each page is classic. Though I ordered and received this in mid-January, I scrapped the calendar I have been using and transferred dates to this one. I really like it and think it is an extraordinary value.
