When I first bought it it was on my monitor 3/4 of the time and I had to unplug and plug the USB-C connector back in for my monitor to show up. I had to send it back immediately. After that I had to plug, unplug, plug, unplug, plug and unplug for months and then try to do the same with HDMI to keep wasting time. Sometimes USB devices just don't show up, which is unbearable on a MacBook since that device was my only way to use the USB-A ports. Now I cannot display the monitor at all. My laptop confirms that the monitor is there (which was often not the case in the past), but the screen remains blank. I even tried a different monitor. I also tried a Dell laptop running Windows 10 with the same result. I should have returned it when I first got it instead of putting up with it and now it's too late. The internal storage still works (not sure if I trust it), but it's the only thing that has worked reliably. I didn't use the ethernet port so I can't say if it ever worked. If you try this device and you experience display problems with the monitor, please return it immediately. It's gradually getting worse.
